About this test
Although it's normal for hormone levels to change throughout our life from puberty to menopause, abnormal hormone levels may be a sign of an underlying problem. When your hormones are imbalanced, it can stop you from feeling your best and can impact a range of things from your menstrual cycle to your fertility. If you are looking for a greater understanding of your hormones, the LetsGetChecked female hormone test may be for you.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this kit.
You should collect your sample in the morning, on a Monday-Friday, and if possible, on days 3 to 7 of our menstrual cycle (as your hormone levels vary throughout your cycle). If your period is absent or unpredictable, don't worry: you can collect and return your sample on any weekday. Collect and return your sample on the same day. Please note that if you have been taking hormonal contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy (HRT) within the last three months, the accuracy of your female hormone test results will be affected and we recommend that you talk to your healthcare provider about the most suitable testing option for you.
Supplements with Biotin (B7) can impact your results so please wait at least 8 hours after your last dose before collecting your sample.
Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
Follicles are small sacs filled with fluid that are found inside a woman's ovaries. One of the hormones that follicles release into the ovaries is FSH. FSH helps to stimulate egg growth in your ovaries.
Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
LH is a hormone that works with FSH to release eggs into your ovaries.
Prolactin
Prolactin is a hormone that plays two key roles during and after pregnancy: regulating milk production and developing breast tissue.
Estradiol
Estradiol contributes to the growth and release of eggs into your ovaries and thickens the lining of your uterus to give the eggs a surface they can attach to.

Activating the test connects you to the unique alphanumeric barcode within your LetsGetChecked sample collection kit. The laboratory cannot process your sample if the test is not activated and linked to you. You should only activate your test when you are ready to take your sample.
Yes. LetsGetChecked has a team of board-certified physicians who will review your order and results and have created detailed result breakdowns for your testing journey.
Our clinical team is on standby throughout the testing process and, if your test results are abnormal, you may receive a call to discuss your results and next steps.
Please ensure that the sample is collected in the morning, on a Monday-Friday, and returned immediately using the carrier method provided within the sample collection kit. Each of our health tests includes a prepaid shipping envelope to return your samples to the laboratory.
Please do not collect or return samples on a Saturday or Sunday.
Please note: Sample collection kits have an expiration date on the side of the kit box in year, month, and day format. If your kit has expired, you will be unable to activate it.

We don't accept insurance at this time. We work to keep our tests as affordable as possible and our test costs are generally lower than the costs incurred from a trip to a healthcare provider.
We accept many Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) cards. They can be used in the same way that a debit or credit card would be used at checkout.
